Pack 1280 is located in Potomac, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. We welcome any K-5 children in the area. Currently, the pack has scouts from Cold Spring ES, Ritchie Park ES, Saint Raphael School, Stone Mill ES, and more! We “do our best” to be a pack kids and parents are proud to be a part of! Our pack calendar is full of adventure, from hiking and camping in the great outdoors, to STEAM activities and racing in our annual Pinewood Derby. We also undertake a number of service projects each year and contribute to our community. We look forward to a great year of learning and fun!

Summer Hike #1
Come hike with Pack 1280! Our first hike of the summer is on Sat June 14 @ 9:30 AM Blockhouse Point Conservation Park off River Rd. Let’s meet in the parking lot and head down towards the river on the Muddy Branch Greenway trail to Pennyfield Lock!

Frederick Keys Game & Overnight
The Frederick Keys will host Scout Night on Sat July 12th @ 6:00 PM at Harry Grove Stadium. Scouts who attend can participate in a pre-game parade @ 5:30 PM, enjoy the game, and have the opportunity to sleep on the field after the game, complete with a movie on the videoboard. Additionally, local scout troops who attend can enjoy an exclusive food package and the first 1,000 campers receive a special patch.

Boating, Picnic, & Hike!
Join Pack 1280 on Sat July 19 @ 10:00AM for our annual boating trip! This year's boating will be followed by a picnic and hike. Please bring a picnic lunch. We will continue with Summer Hike #2 after lunch at Black Hill Regional Park. Meet at the boating dock.

Hike with Pack 1280 on Sat Aug 2 @ 9:30 AM. Lake Needwood off Avery Rd. We will take Westside Trail to Needwood Rd. Approximately 2 miles out and back.
Meet at the large Hiker/Biker Trailhead parking lot, past the boat house parking lot.

Memorial Day Parade
(May 2025)
Scouts did a great job representing Pack 1280 in the Rockville Memorial Day Parade! The weather was perfect for a march through Rockville Town Square in memory of the heroes who served our country.
DC United Game
(June 2025)
Pack 1280 led the flag ceremony at the DC United game on June 7th. What an awesome opportunity for our scouts! Way to go!
